Virginia is located midway between New York and Florida. It is the gateway to the South and sometimes classified in the Mid-Atlantic region. The Commonwealth is bordered by Washington, D.C., the nation's capital, and Maryland to the north, the Atlantic Ocean to the east, North Carolina and Tennessee to the south and West Virginia and Kentucky to the west.

Geographically,Western Virginia is mountainous, covered by the Allegheny and Blue Ridge mountains with the great Shenandoah Valley falling between the ranges. The central piedmont region, with its rolling hills, flattens out into the sandy coastal plain toward the Atlantic Ocean. Beautiful Virginia has the Blue Ridge and Appalachian mountain ranges to the west, the Atlantic Ocean and Chesapeake Bay to the east, and the green rolling hills of the Piedmont in between. Wherever you go, dont forget to bring your camera for some of the most spectacular seasonal backdrops in your vacation photos.

West Virginia State has a great fascinating history . The caretakers of West Virginia''s rich history bring the past to life for visitors through Civil war re-enactments, historic dramas and theater productions, the preservation of historic sites, and the careful retelling of events that have affected the state and the nation. It is the home for some of the nation's finest crafters and Appalachia''s best storytellers.

There's so much you can do in Virginia during the Spring. Gardens are alive and in color, golf is in full swing, music is in the air, and new wines are in the barrels just waiting to be tasted.Outdoors enthusiasts love Virginia because from the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains to the Atlantic Ocean, every type of sport can be enjoyed. Enjoy getaways on the Appalachian Trail and the Virginia Creeper Trail. Stay in a lodge at Shenandoah National Park and see the Grand Canyon of the South at Breaks Interstate Park. There's variety in Virginia's beaches — from the action-packed shores of Virginia beach to the uninhabited sands of Assateague Island and the hideaways of Virginia's tidal rivers all of which cater to family fun!
